  here's a lovely idea i heard from an evangelical preacher lately.

  he said that any mother who works when it isn't financially necessary is "serving the devil.

  " i think i remember that verse.

  It was far worse under the Taliban, and they used religion to rationalize their oppression of women too, even though I'm pretty sure the Quran doesn't state women mustnt leave the house.

  if you had the pleasure of hearing the watchtower today what a good way to cover their tracks right after the am!

  so if their is any doubts they will scare it out of the rank and file!

  i have to give it to them they did their best to plan this out along with all the new light i guess it was to trya and stop the internal bleeding.

  I noticed the last few years tho that they really ramped up the obedience to gb= Jehovah. It started seeming very cult like to me, and started the ball rolling on looking at how groups did the old bait and switch too.

  Lol a bridge club! That's funny! I've never actually seen a hall sold. I live in an area with a huge influx people moving in from all over the country so they've had to build new halls for all the jws moving in from interstate and of course their kids who stay in the cult. That means however that khs in other parts of the country like Hobart are selling up and closing down...

  Why doesn't the GB come out with specific rules on counting time

  i think we all know the reason millions of less hours.

  when i was in we went to a rv by the kingdom hall then drove 30 minutes out to the country to knock on a door then back to the city for one more door.

  god must be so proud!

  The rules were in the organised book, the one that came out 2005. I've purged it so can't tell u exactly where in it you will find the rules.

  You're supposed to count first door to last door technically, though people themselves interpret that very loosely. I think you may be able to count one way to rural territory. The rules are pretty clear but not enforced a great deal.

  Does your town house a lot of people with mental illness? I ask because Iived in a town that attracted a lot of marginal types once. Rural towns around here attract some 'unique' people.
